Meet the Kiwanis International president-elect

Rochford, JimJames “Jim” Rochford of Peoria, Illinois, was elected as president-elect of Kiwanis International in June 2016 at the 101st Annual Kiwanis International Convention in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

A 35-year Kiwanian with the Peoria club, Jim has served as distinguished club president, Key Club advisor, Circle K International advisor, distinguished lieutenant governor and distinguished governor. Jim has personally recruited more than 1,000 members into Kiwanis.

He is also a Diamond-level George F. Hixson Fellow, a charter Walter Zeller Fellow and a certified Kiwanis trainer.

Outside of Kiwanis, Jim was named Tri-County Citizen of the Year, JC Penney/Golden Rule Award recipient, past president of the Peoria Jaycees and founder/president of the Peoria Irish AAU Basketball program.

Jim and his wife, Debra, have two daughters and one son, as well as two grandbabies!
